Türkiye conducts anti-ISIS operation in 47 provinces: 298 people detained

As a result of an anti-terror operation conducted in 47 provinces of Türkiye, 298 people suspected of having links with the ISIS terrorist organization have been detained, Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, said, Report informs via TRT Haber.

A total of 139 suspects who were determined to be providing financial resources to the ISIS terrorist organization, as well as conducting propaganda for the organization, were detained during operations carried out in Aksaray, Amasya, Ankara, Adana, Adiyaman, Antalya, Artvin, Burdur, Bursa, Eskisehir, Hatay, Igdir, Istanbul, Izmir, Kahramanmaras, Kirikkale, Kirsehir, Kilis, Mersin, Mugla, Sakarya, Sanliurfa, Tekirdag, Van, Yalova, and Zonguldak.

Several firearms, numerous documents belonging to the group, and digital materials were seized as a result of the operations.

The operation was carried out by provincial prosecutor's offices, coordinated by the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Gendarmerie General Command and provincial gendarmerie commands.
