"In 1970, we faced attacks by Armenian terrorist organizations," the Turkish Presidency's Director of Communications, Fakhreddin Altun, said at the opening of the 'Difficult Years' exhibition in Ankara, Report informs via A Haber.
He said that in the 1970s, there were difficulties in Turkiye as well as in the world: "There was no strong political will and stability in Turkiye that could settle these issues. At that time, the September 12 military coup was launched to resolve the problems. But it caused new problems."
According to Altun, Turkiye began to overcome problems after 2002: " Turkiye is now a power serving global peace. We have already become a center of regional stability.”
