Turkish MFA: We expect US to cut ties with PKK-YPG terrorist organization

"We expect the United States to cut ties with the PKK-YPG terrorist organization," the statement of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, Report informs.

According to the statement, following the right of self-defense derived from Article 51 of the UN Charter and the resolutions of the UN Security Council on the fight against terrorism, the code-named Operation Peace Spring carried out by Turkiye ensured an environment of peace and stability in the region: "As a result of Turkiye's anti-terrorist operations in the region, the PKK-YPG and ISIS terrorist organizations were pushed away from the operational zone. This operation also contributed to the protection of the territorial integrity of Syria. We expect the United States to cut ties with the PKK-YPG terrorist organization, stop its support for them, and fulfill the provisions of the Joint Statement dated October 17, 2019."
