Turkish FM: We have high hopes for meeting of Presidents of Russia and Ukraine

"The discussion was not easy. And fighting continues. Of course, miracles should not be expected from just one meeting," Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said while assessing a trilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, Report informs.

Cavusoglu said that this is the beginning:

"The meeting of the leaders was on the agenda at this meeting. It turned out that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was ready for such a meeting, and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not object. It does not matter where the meeting will take place."

"Despite all the difficulties, the parties expressed their positions in a civilized way. The parties respected each other's opinions. If both sides want, we are ready to host discussions again," he stressed.

The Turkish Foreign Minister also added that hopes for future meetings at the presidential level have increased: "Today's discussions and the fact that the parties, especially Ukraine, have not objected to this have boosted our confidence."
