Tokayev: Kazakhstan-Türkiye cooperation has great prospects

Kazakhstan and Türkiye intend to increase trade turnover to $10 billion in the near future, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Report informs via Kazinform.
According to him, Türkiye is one of the four leading trading partners of Kazakhstan. Last year, bilateral trade grew by 54%, reaching $6.3 billion.
“Investment cooperation is developing dynamically between the two countries. Türkiye is one of the 10 largest investors in Kazakhstan. Work is currently underway on 36 projects totaling more than $2.8 billion. We believe that cooperation between the two countries has great prospects,” the president noted.
The Turkish foreign minister noted that the Turkish side intends to make every effort to promote cooperation between the two countries, as well as to bring interaction within regional and international structures to a new level.
Fidan said that Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to comprehensively discuss prospects for strengthening the strategic partnership between the two states during his upcoming visit in November this year, timed to coincide with the summit of the Organization of Turkic States.
