Kazakhstan welcomes the mutual steps made by Azerbaijan and Armenia, which are leading to the signing of a peace treaty between the two states, President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, said during the CIS leaders' summit in Moscow, Report informs.

"Kazakhstan welcomes the mutual steps of Azerbaijan and Armenia aimed at concluding a peace treaty. We also note with satisfaction the significant progress in completing the legal formalization of separate sections of interstate borders in the Central Asian region," he said.

Earlier, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that over the past year, Azerbaijan and Armenia have made significant progress in the process of normalizing relations through bilateral negotiations. According to him, Azerbaijan will continue to move this process forward, acting with a sense of responsibility not only for national security and well-being but also for ensuring a better future for the region.
