Three female journalists detained in Iran

Three female journalists were detained in Iran, the Association of Iranian Journalists said, Report informs, citing Jamaran.

According to the information, journalists Melika Hashemi, Saida Shafii and Mehrnoosh Zarii were detained in Tehran. They are being held in Evin prison in Tehran. Journalists are accused of "making propaganda against the regime and threatening national security."

According to Iranian human rights activists, 79 journalists were arrested during the protests that began in September 2022.
