Georgian PM: There is no frozen conflict

"Recent events have clearly shown that there is no 'frozen' conflict, as it is possible to put an end to this conflict as quickly as possible."

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said during an online discussion organized by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), the local Bureau of Report informs.

According to him, what happened between Azerbaijan and Armenia is essential not only for Georgia but also for the whole region:

"We believe that this conflict also poses a risk for the Black Sea region. So, since the beginning of the escalation, we have temporarily suspended the issuance of permits for the transport of military goods in both countries' direction. Otherwise, we would face the risk of being involved in the conflict in one form or another, which is unacceptable for Georgia."

The Prime Minister reminded that Georgia expressed readiness to organize a dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Tbilisi:

"Moreover, we recognize that Western partners' support is crucial to reducing tensions in the region. Of course, the OSCE Minsk Group must play a decisive role here. "
