The Tbilisi Silk Road Forum is starting today in the capital of Georgia, Report informs referring to Georgian media.
The event, which will continue on October 27, will be attended by up to 2,000 guests from almost 60 countries.
The prime ministers of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan will take part in the opening of the forum.
In addition, other panel sessions will be attended by high-ranking government representatives from Europe and Asia, deputy prime ministers and economic ministers.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps and international, including financial, donor organizations will also take part in the event.
Dozens of representatives of leading companies from the countries of the region, the Gulf, the US and China are also expected at the forum.
Participants of the event will discuss global economic challenges, ways to solve them, as well as aspects and prospects for cooperation in the direction of connectivity. The event will include ten sessions: trade, transport, energy, tourism, digital and financial technologies.
The development of the Silk Road is one of the important priorities of the Georgian government, which is making significant investments in this direction.
In this regard, the main infrastructure that is being built nationwide is an integral part of the Silk Road, including the East-West Highway, railway modernization, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line and other projects.
