The Commission on Constitutional Reform of Armenia will discuss the issue of developing a new constitution on March 1, Report informs via Hraparak.

The newspaper claims that changes to the fundamental law of Armenia will be discussed at the meeting.

“Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not create a new council that will deal with this work. Because there is little time. And few people will agree to do this,” the newspaper writes.

The current constitution of Armenia contains territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Official Baku demands changes to the legislation of Armenia in order to normalize relations between the two countries and sign a peace agreement.

Earlier, Pashinyan voiced his intention to make changes to the basic law.
