About 500 people injured in Almaty riots

About 500 civilians, including 130 women and elderly, were beaten during the riots in Kazakhstan's Almaty, Report informs with reference to RIA Novosti.

In addition, 120 cars were burned, including 33 ambulance cars and fire trucks during the riots in the city.

The commandant of Almaty announced that the city was stormed by extremists and radicals.

The buildings of the mayor's office, the city prosecutor's office and the Auezov district branch of the Nur Otan party, ruling in Kazakhstan, are on fire, Report informs, citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Windows of the first and second floors were knocked out in the building of the party's branch. Firefighters or police are not yet visible.

RIA Novosti correspondent reported that the protesters stormed the building of the akimat of Almaty and set it on fire. Police officers left the square near the akimat.
