Shamil Ayrim: Kars-Igdir-Nakhchivan project to give impetus to region's development

The Kars-Igdir-Nakhchivan railway project will give impetus to even greater economic development of the region, Turkish MP Shamil Ayrim told Report.

The parliamentarian noted that this transport corridor will become a powerful factor for economic growth in the region.

"In January, we, together with official delegations from Azerbaijan and Türkiye, visited the railway construction zone. The project is extremely important and generates great interest in Nakhchivan, Igdir, as well as in Europe and Asia. It is expected that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye will participate in the foundation-laying ceremony," he said.

He noted that Azerbaijan has begun to play a key role in gas supply to Europe amid the suspension of Russian gas supplies.

This has increased Azerbaijan's authority not only in Europe, but throughout the world, he added.
