The Parliament of Georgia published a statement on additional security measures, Report informs.
It is reported that the entrance to the parliament palace will be limited to visitors only.
According to the statement, the yellow security level will be applied from April 18, 2024, in accordance with the decree of the Speaker of the Parliament dated September 4, 2023, "On the approval of security regulations in the Georgian Parliament Palace." Only persons invited by the relevant structural divisions will be admitted to the planned events of the Parliament, including committee meetings.
"The restriction does not apply to accredited reporters of television companies. The purpose of this measure is to ensure a safe and working environment in the palace of the Parliament of Georgia," the information said.
The parliament has been discussing the draft law "On transparency of foreign influence" since April 15, 2024. On April 15, 16, and 17, a similar security regime was in force in the legislative body.
