Sec.-Gen. of Council of Europe: Baku-Yerevan peace agreement to open up opportunities for development in region

During a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Strasbourg, Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset welcomed the initialing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Report informs referring to Armenian media.
The meeting took place during the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Berset expressed hope that the new reality created in the South Caucasus with the establishment of peace will open up broad opportunities for development in the region.
The parties discussed cooperation programs between the EU and Armenia and democratic reforms in the country.
