Russian MFA reps, Kapan mayor discuss opening consulate general in Syunik

Opening a Russian Consulate General in Kapan (Syunik region) was discussed during a meeting between the new head of the advanced group of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Chashchikhin, and the mayor of the city, Gevork Parsyan, the Russian Embassy in Yerevan said, Report informs via Armenian media.

The parties discussed areas of partnership in the cultural, humanitarian, trade and economic spheres.

The importance of establishing and developing close ties with Russian cities was emphasized.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the Russian government had approved an agreement to open a consulate general in Kapan.
