Russian MFA: Moscow to welcome dialogue in South Caucasus not subject to West's destructive influence

Moscow will welcome the trilateral dialogue between Baku, Yerevan and Tbilisi if it is 'not subject to the destructive influence of the West', Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a weekly briefing, Report's Russian bureau informs.

Zakharova noted that Moscow proceeds from the fact that each state has the right to participate in those international formats that meet its interests, are not directed against third countries and take into account the existing balance of power.

"If the trilateral dialogue between Baku, Yerevan, Tbilisi contributes to the settlement of contradictions in the South Caucasus, strengthening stability and security, then we can only welcome it. If the contours of Washington and Brussels which seek to undermine the trilateral agreements between the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are visible behind this initiative, then it's a whole different story," she said.
