Russian MFA: EU observers lured Yerevan into a trap

European Union observers in Armenia lured official Yerevan into a trap, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing today, Report informs.

“It was the Western community, namely the European Union, that dissuaded Russia from implementing the agreements that were reached through the mediation of Moscow. That there is no need to carry out what Moscow-Baku-Yerevan agreed on, but that it is worth following some special path,” she said.

Zakharova also noted that the European Union did not in any way help the residents of Karabakh leaving for Armenia.

“Russian peacekeepers acted as mediators in achieving a ceasefire. The European Union also observed all this from the outside, without even thinking of helping and assisting in any practical way,” Zakharova emphasized.
