Russian, Iranian presidents meet

Before the tripartite summit in Tehran, there was a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi, Report informs, citing the Turkish press.
Speaking at the meeting, the President of Iran said that the region had become safer thanks to the experience and cooperation between the countries.
"Our ties and cooperation in the fight against terrorism have proven that we can achieve our goals. I believe this is a precious and good experience in terms of increasing the level of security in our region," Raisi said.
In his turn, Putin noted that an essential contribution to the solution of the Syrian crisis could be made by strengthening cooperation in the field of international security.
In Tehran, the Russian President also met with the supreme religious leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
