Russian, Iranian FMs to meet shortly

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Report informs.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Moscow, Lavrov said that one of the main topics of his upcoming meeting with the Iranian minister would be the situation in Syria.

He also noted that the next international meeting on Syria in the Astana format will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan before the end of the year.

“By the end of this year, we expect to hold the next, nineteenth, meeting on Syria in Nur-Sultan,” noted the Russian foreign minister.
