Russian border guards transferred from Zvartnots airport to Armenia’s border with Türkiye, Iran

Russian border guards, after completing their service at Zvartnots airport, have transferred to serve on Armenia's border with Türkiye and Iran, according to the country's National Security Service, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

"According to the agreement concluded between Armenia and Russia in 1992, servicemen of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia guard the state border on the Armenia- Türkiye and Armenia-Iran sections," the service noted.

At the same time, the service refused to name the number of Russian border guards serving at the airport, citing state secrets.
