Moscow urges Yerevan not to allow the West to deceive it and mislead Armenia, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on the trilateral meeting between Armenia, the US, and the EU format, Report informs.
"We urge the leadership of Yerevan not to allow the West to deceive itself and lead the country down the wrong path, which is full of security gaps, serious problems in the economy, and the outflow of the population," the ministry stressed.
The statement reflects that Russia considers the Armenia-US-EU meeting as the West's next attempt to drag the South Caucasus into a geopolitical conflict. Destructive intervention of forces outside the region in the affairs of the South Caucasus can result in the most negative consequences.
The West wants to turn Armenia into a tool to implement its extremely dangerous plans in the South Caucasus.
"We know that Washington and Brussels are striving for Armenia's exit from the CSTO and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the withdrawal of the Russian military base and border guards under temporary promises," the ministry added.
