Russia’s Gazprom increases gas transit through Ukraine

Russia’s Gazprom is once again increasing gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system, while the capacity of the main gas pipeline Yamal-Europe remains unclaimed by the company, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.
The transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory has almost halved since the beginning of the year, according to the GTS Operator of Ukraine, the German Gascade and the GSA Platform auction site. At the same time, since the end of January, Gazprom has increased pumping, and on February 1 it was close to the maximum contractual commitments of Gazprom to Ukraine, amounting to 106.7 million cubic meters. However, then the indicator again slightly decreased and fluctuated within 80-90 million cubic meters.
On February 7, Russian gas transit through Ukraine may increase again. The current request for pumping is 107.8 million cubic meters, while the maximum contractual obligations of Gazprom are about 109 million. Compared to the average volume of pumping last week, the figure could increase by 24%.
