Russia’s Consulate General to open in Samarkand city

Russia will open a Consulate General in Samarkand city, the first Consulate General of the Russian Federation on the territory of Uzbekistan, Report informs referring to Interfax.
An intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of the Consulate General of Russia in Samarkand was concluded through an exchange of notes between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan.
The Russian Foreign Ministry notes that the opening of the consulate will “promote the development of economic, cultural and other ties between the two countries, as well as expand contacts between citizens” of the two countries.
