Russia has reported a staggering 29 deaths in water-related incidents within just 24 hours, according to Report, which cites TASS.

The Russian Ministry of Emergencies said a total of 38 water-related incidents were registered across the country in the past day, marking a significant increase of 13 cases compared to the same period last year. The ministry's spokesperson told TASS news agency that among the victims were three children, highlighting the urgent need for increased vigilance and safety measures.

Rescue efforts managed to save 12 individuals, including six children, from potential tragedy. However, the overall statistics paint a grim picture of the current situation.</p>

The ministry has noted a sharp increase in water-related fatalities in 2024, prompting officials to issue urgent safety reminders to the public. Citizens are strongly advised to choose only designated and equipped swimming areas, adhere to water safety rules, never leave children unsupervised near water, avoid swimming under the influence of alcohol, refrain from using faulty watercraft.
