Russia records over 48,000 COVID cases per day

Over the past day, medical experts recorded 48,042 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, Report informs referring to Russian media.

Also, more than 2,239 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized per day.

The total number of registered cases in the country has reached 19,729,423 since the pandemic onset.

To date, a total of 384,711 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 87 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 18,746,698.

More than 610.1 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 6.5 million lives, though unable to cope with 586.6 million patients, who managed to recover.
