Russia and China have vetoed a draft resolution at the UN Security Council that would have extended until September 2027 the mandate of the Panel of Experts of the Committee established pursuant to Resolution 1737 on Iran.
According to Report, citing Russian media, 11 of the 15 members of the UN Security Council voted in favor of the US-drafted resolution.
Somalia and Pakistan abstained from the vote.
Earlier, the US House of Representatives adopted a non-binding resolution calling on President Donald Trump to withdraw US troops from military operations against Iran.
The document allows US forces to remain deployed to protect the country, as well as its allies and partners, from attack.
