Robert Kocharyan leaves Armenia

Former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan has left the country, Report informs via Sputnik Armenia.

According to Bagrat Mikoyan, the coordinator of Kocharyan’s office, the former president will be abroad until August 29.

Earlier, he added that a team of lawyers applied to the court to get permission for the former president to leave the country, given that the next court hearing is scheduled for September 20.

Mikoyan did not say precisely where Kocharyan went, as his visit is private. However, he only noted that the former president is not in Russia.

Kocharyan is charged with accepting a large amount of bribe. According to the case file, the ex-president facilitated the sale of 100% of the shares of TSSC Armenia, an exploration company, to a foreign company.
