Russia will continue uninterrupted supplies of gas, including LNG, to world markets, will improve the relevant infrastructure and increase investments in the gas sector, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his greeting message on the occasion of the opening of the next summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Report informs.
“At this stage, the expansion of the use of natural gas as one of the most environmentally friendly types of fuel is becoming very popular. Russia, for its part, intends to continue uninterrupted supplies of this raw material, including LNG, to world markets, improve the relevant infrastructure, and increase investment in the gas sector,” reads a welcoming telegram published on the Kremlin website.
Putin also stressed that energy modernization requires balanced approaches and careful consideration of national specifics.
“The main task is to ensure universal access to affordable, sustainable and modern energy sources. We are convinced that it is in the interests of the world community to ensure that the energy transition doesn’t turn into a means of promoting the political and economic interests of individual players and, moreover, is not accompanied by sanctions or other restrictions,” Putin added.
