President of Russia meets with Iranian FM

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin received the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in the Kremlin, the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists, Report informs via TASS.

"Putin today received in the Kremlin the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is visiting Moscow," Peskov said.

He did not provide details of the meeting.

Abbas Araghchi is in Moscow on a visit. The agenda of his meetings with Russian colleagues includes the advancement of bilateral relations, regional cooperation, and interaction in the international arena. There may also be a discussion of the progress of negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding the Iranian nuclear program. Araghchi himself had previously said that he plans to deliver a message to Putin from Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
