Cabinet reshuffles are possible in Türkiye's government by the end of February, but they will not affect five key ministers, Report informs via TASS.
Sources in the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reported that five to six ministers might lose their positions. However, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Foreign Affairs Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and Minister of Environment and Urban Planning Murat Kurum will retain their positions.
The changes, implemented as part of AKP reforms following the March 2024 local elections where the opposition won, will affect both party leadership and the municipalities it represents. The personnel renewal is planned to be completed before the AKP congress scheduled for the end of February, the newspaper notes.
The current Turkish cabinet was formed in June 2023 after the presidential and parliamentary elections held in May of the same year.
