Protests in Georgia are sponsored by Western organizations, with money coming from the West, said Peter Mamradze, former chief of staff to ex-president of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze and political analyst, Report informs via Rossiya TV channel.
He noted that the majority of riot participants in the capital are youth from wealthy families and people sponsored by rich parties and Western organizations.
"This is an entire network of non-governmental organizations, NGOs, which are not so much civil society as quite the opposite - they are tools in the hands of Saakashvili's regime. They remained. Money comes from the West. Some USAID, or Democracy Institute, or Republican Institute and so on..." said Mamradze.
Protests in Tbilisi and other Georgian cities began on November 28 after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the republic would suspend EU accession negotiations until the end of 2028.
