Ukraine wants continued support regardless of who becomes president of the US, Mykhaylo
Podolyak noted that both Republicans and emphasize the importance of continuing full financial, military, and other support to Ukraine and accordingly ending the war justly.
Suggesting to wait for the election campaign results, Podolyak believes that any pre-election statement by a candidate should be taken calmly:
"A candidate has the freedom to make statements. You can characterize the war and its consequences as you understand them. But when you're already the president of a large country with completely different legal, factual, and political responsibilities, that's a different matter. Naturally, presidents behave somewhat differently compared to candidates' statements."
In his opinion, regardless of whether the president is Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Kamala Harris, they will more deeply understand the essence of this war and the impossibility of reaching any agreement with Russia.
"I think if the new US president calls Mr. Zelenskyy, and this call will definitely happen, Zelenskyy will very precisely explain what is needed for a just end to the war. I believe we will continue to receive the full support that the US-led coalition provides today," Podolyak emphasized.
