“NATO has been actively participating in Georgia’s sustainable development for years,” Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at the Brussels forum.
According to him, Georgia is ready to deepen the cooperation with the Alliance: “This is very important for us. So we are preparing for the NATO membership.”
The Prime Minister noted that not only Georgia but also the region, Europe, and other countries face new threats and are seeking new ways to defend themselves.
Garibashvili said that even the most democratic countries in the West are unable to cope with the new challenges: “Georgia demonstrated unbelievable resilience during the difficult times. Strengthening the democratic institutions, economic development, and support to modernization are among our important efforts to have more resistance against the external threats.”
