Pashinyan: Water crisis deepens in Armenia

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a government meeting that the water crisis is deepening in Armenia, due to the lack of infrastructure or its deterioration, Report informs via TASS.

“It is time to understand that it is necessary to change the attitude towards water. Basically, the water crisis in Armenia is deepening, it is global in nature, and in our case, it is deepening due to the lack or deterioration of infrastructure and our attitude to water. If we drive around the provinces, we will be surprised at how big the water problem is,” he noted.

According to the head of the Armenian Cabinet, after problems with roads, schools and the healthcare system, the next problem is water. "Let's face it - the water in Armenia is not managed, the water flows. There are organizations, officials, procedures, laws, but the water is not managed. We also have a problem with awareness, we do not know what it means to manage the water problem," he said.

Pashinyan also added that the government is currently planning the construction of new reservoirs to solve this problem.
