Pashinyan announces increase in defense budget by over $750M

Armenia's defense budget in 2024 will be increased by 309 billion drams ($772 million), Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in the Armenian parliament, Report informs via TASS.

“I would especially like to note the increase in the defense budget by 309 billion drams. This is 125% more than the defense budget in 2018. We need to carry out reforms in the army. At the same time, I would like to note that increasing the defense budget does not contradict the peace agenda we have announced,” Pashinyan said.
