Parents of Armenian soldiers killed in barrack fire threaten to block Republic square

Parents of the Armenian soldiers who died in the fire in the engineering and sapper division of the military unit have threatened to block the Republic square in Yerevan on April 21, their lawyer Norayr Norikyan said on social networks.

Report informs via Novosti Armenia that earlier a group of parents blocked the Yerevan-Sevan highway demanding a meeting with Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The road was unblocked only this morning.

The action participants said they will wait for response until tomorrow.

The governor of the Gegarkunik province (Basarkechar region) said he personally contacted the relatives and parents of the deceased soldiers to tell them that he could not reach any officials.
