Papuashvili: Georgia still remains in Western orbit and is ready to open new page

Georgia still remains in the Western orbit, the country's doors are open and it is loyal to its friends in a 30-year strategic partnership, said the Speaker of the country's parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, Report informs.

The Speaker of Parliament stated that Georgia's relations with the West continue and they are ready to move to a new level in the future.

According to him, six months after the elections, the Georgian Dream party has restored society's confidence in victory.

Papuashvili noted that the party has shown not only to its voters but also to opposition voters that Georgian Dream serves only Georgia and its national interests.

According to the speaker, the only guarantee of stability, security, and development in the country is a responsible government. He stated that due to changes in the international situation, the government has forced its partners, mainly opposition partners, to accept demands that align with Georgia's national interests.

"This process is not yet complete, but the local self-government elections will be an important stage on the path to strengthening independence," Papuashvili added.
