OSCE Sec.-Gen.: Stability in Georgia important for region

Maintaining stability in Georgia is also important for the security and stability of the entire region, OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu said after a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili in Tbilisi, Report informs.

"We have been cooperating with Georgia for many years. Maintaining stability in the country is vital not only for Georgia, but also for the interests of the region. As the OSCE, we attach particular importance to facilitating dialogue in conflict zones and ensuring security. The Incident Prevention Mechanism is one of our main tools in this area," he noted.

Sinirlioglu emphasized that he is in Tbilisi on his first official visit as OSCE Secretary General and noted that the organization will continue to actively participate in strengthening security in Georgia.
