Opposition parties are holding a rally before the Georgian government building in Tbilisi.
According to Report's local bureau, the protest was against the arrest of the chairman of the United National Movement Party, Nika Melia.
Police forces have been dispatched to the area, and security measures were strengthened.
Police detained opposition leader Nika Melia and used tear gas in a raid on opposition party offices. The charge came days after the prime minister resigned in protest at plans to arrest Melia.
Melia, chairman of the United National Movement (UNM), has been accused of inciting street protests in June 2019. Live television footage showed Melia being dragged from his party headquarters.
