The number of people affected by the strong earthquake that occurred in Türkiye on October 16 has reached 249, the country's Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya said on X, Report informs.
Yerlikaya stated that 55 people in Malatya, 111 in Elazig, 37 in Sanliurfa, 19 in Diyarbakir, 18 in Adiyaman, six in Erzincan, and three in Kahramanmaras were affected by the natural disaster. Eleven of them are still undergoing treatment.
A 5.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in Türkiye on October 16. As a result of the incident, more than 550 buildings were damaged in two provinces of the country.
