National Leader of Azerbaijan commemorated in Istanbul

An event on the occasion of the 99th birth anniversary of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, took place in the Sariyer district of Istanbul.

Report's Turkish bureau informs that the event was organized by Azerbaijan's Consulate General in Istanbul.

The participants in the event honored the memory of the great leader and laid flowers at his memorial in the Heydar Aliyev Park.

The ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan's General Consul in Istanbul, Narmina Mustafayeva, consulate employees, Sariyer municipality chairman Shukru Genc, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States Gismat Gozalov, Chairman of the Elders' Council of the Organization of Turkic States on Azerbaijan Hasan Hasanov, employees of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, Federation of Turkish-Azerbaijani Associations and Union of Azerbaijani Businesspeople in Turkiye, as well as diplomats, representatives of state organizations of Azerbaijan and Turkiye.

Then the event participants visited the memorial to the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and laid flowers at it.
