Mustafa Sentop: 'Elections are held in accordance with requirements'

Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Sentop voted in the presidential and parliamentary elections today in Istanbul, Report informs.

In a statement to journalists, Sentop wished success to all candidates: "The elections are held in accordance with the requirements. So far, elections have been held in Türkiye about 110 times," he said.

The chairman of the parliament noted that he voted with his wife and children.

"May the outcome be favorable for our country and nation," he added.

The voting in the presidential and parliamentary elections in Türkiye began at 08:00 local time (GMT+3) and will continue until 17:00.

There are more than 191,000 polling stations in the country, and 64,113,941 voters have been registered. Of these, about 5 million people will exercise their right to vote for the first time.
