Military analyst calls granting Nobel Peace Prize to Ruben Vardanyan 'absurdity'

Nominating someone like Ruben Vardanyan for the Nobel Peace Prize is absurdity, military analyst Oleksandr Kovalenko told Report.

"So-called Armenian human rights defenders and supporters are trying to put forward his candidacy, but they should expect a reaction not only from Ukraine, but from many places. Vardanyan is a character who is not included in only Ukraine's sanctions list," the expert emphasized.

He noted that Vardanyan, in addition to being a person involved in financing the war against Ukraine, also committed provocations against other countries, and they also imposed sanctions on him:

"His last show took place when he was in the temporarily occupied Karabakh territory. Karabakh was liberated, Vardanyan was arrested. His supporters in Armenia are now trying to free him. They are trying to take advantage of the Nobel Peace Prize. There is substantial evidence against Vardanyan, suggesting that he is unworthy of the award, including his candidacy. After he was detained by Azerbaijan, his supporters are trying to draw attention to him in this way," Kovalenko added.
