Georgia's "Strength is in Unity" opposition coalition has officially nominated former President Mikheil Saakashvili for prime minister, said Grigol Vashadze, chairman of the United National Movement Party (UNMP).

Report' local bureau informs, according to him, Saakashvili must return to Georgia and meet with the people: "That is why the UNMP and all other parties represented in the unity have decided to nominate him for the post of Georgian Prime Minister."

The oppositionist noted that the former head of state would present detailed information on his plans to return to Georgia.

Saakashvili, 52, was president of Georgia from 2008 to 2013. He was an adviser to the President of Ukraine and governor of Odessa region in 2015-2016. Since May this year, the third president of Georgia has been the chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Council for Reforms of Ukraine.
