Those responsible for the night shelling of Azerbaijan’s Ganja may be brought to justice in the future, but it requires drastic changes in the political system of Armenia and its approaches to these issues, Russian political scientist, director of the Center for Political Studies Sergey Markov told the Russian bureau of Report.
"So far, no one has been held responsible for the massacre in Khojaly and other crimes against the civilian population," he said.
The political scientist noted that the Armenian side continues its previous policy, based on the use of methods of terror against opponents. “This is due to ultra-nationalism - the dominant ideology of the state of Armenia. It is characteristic that Armenia holds the record for the mono-ethnic population, this is apparently reflected in relation to other countries and peoples as inferior ones,” he said.
According to Markov, in order to change this, time must pass and, most importantly, the Armenian society must feel the need for such a change.
