Lithuanian defense minister: Gorbachev - criminal who brutally suppressed peaceful protests in Baku

Although not immediately, there were reasons for this (the end of the cold war, the reunification of Germany...). However, he was the head of a criminal group, and this essence cannot be changed even with 'Glasnost'. However, this led to the disintegration of the party monolith," the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas said on Facebook, Report informs.

"Lithuanians and others skillfully took advantage of the situation and regained their independence. From the perspective of a democratic state, he was a criminal who ordered the brutal suppression of peaceful protests in Vilnius, Tbilisi, Almaty, Baku, and other cities. He had no regrets. It is true that either good things are said about the deceased or nothing. But not this time," he wrote.

According to the Minister of National Defense, the only positive aspect of Gorbachev was that he signed the document of dissolution of the USSR:

"Did he end the Cold War and tear down the Berlin Wall? Nope. People who wanted freedom did it."
