Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM) to be held on July 7-8 in Indonesia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, Report informs referring to Russian media.
She noted that issues related to food and energy security will be discussed.
“Particular attention is expected to be paid to restoring economic growth, eliminating the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, implementing sustainable development goals in the context of energy transition and digital transformation,” Zakharova said.
In her opinion, the G20 is gaining weight, becoming an important mechanism for coordinating the approaches of the major powers.
“The demand for diplomatic dialogue is growing against the backdrop of confrontation in international relations and the growing risks of the global economy,” she added.
