Latvian FM Karins resigns over private flights

Latvian Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins has announced his resignation after mounting criticism and a criminal probe into his use of private jets during his tenure as prime minister, Report informs referring to Bloomberg.
Karins, who stepped aside as Latvia’s premier last September, will leave the cabinet on April 10, the country’s public broadcaster reported Thursday, citing the minister.
The announcement came after he met with Prime Minister Evika Silina. He’ll be replaced with a vote in parliament the day after his departure.
