The trial in the case of ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been completed, lawyer Hayk Alumyan told Sputnik-Armenia.
Report informs that, according to the lawyer, on December 16, the court examined the evidence, and a representative of Pashinyan was also present at the meeting.
"For us, the arguments of Pashinyan's representative are unacceptable. I don't know what decision the court will make, but I hope that it will meet our claim," Alumyan said.
The court will announce the verdict on January 10, 2023.
Kocharyan’s lawyers demand to recover 2 million drams (more than $5,000) from Armenia in favor of the ex-president and oblige Pashinyan to publicly refute the statements made on March 1, 2021 on Republic Square.
The retraction should be disseminated through the prime minister's official social media page, the government's Youtube, public television and a number of media outlets.
Pashinyan, referring to the March 1 case, said that the people "who raised the army against their own people in March 2008 are now trying to do it again." In addition, he stated that the March 1 case had been solved.
