Kazan to host meeting on Afghanistan in late September

The Moscow format meeting on Afghanistan will take place on September 29 in Kazan, Tatarstan, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, Report informs via Russian media.

“This will be the next, V meeting of the ‘Moscow’ format of consultations on Afghanistan with the participation of key interested regional players,” she said.

According to Zakharova, the meeting is planned to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan, ensuring regional security, and post-conflict reconstruction of the country. Following the event, a joint statement of the parties is expected to be adopted.
